A car accident can leave you dealing with painful injuries, missed work, mounting medical expenses, vehicle damage, and an insurance company that may already be looking for ways to limit what it pays. When you are trying to recover, you should not also have to determine which insurance policy applies, what evidence must be preserved, or whether a settlement offer accounts for the full impact of your injuries.
ASK Law Firm LLC represents people injured in motor vehicle accidents throughout New Jersey, including individuals and families who live in or near Bradley Beach. Our attorneys approach personal injury claims strategically, evaluating the evidence, insurance coverage, damages, and potential defenses so that every decision is made with the next stage of the case in mind.
The aftermath of a crash can become complicated quickly. Even when another driver appears clearly responsible, disputes can arise over fault, medical treatment, insurance coverage, lost wages, and the severity of an injury.
ASK Law Firm can investigate the circumstances of the collision, communicate with insurance companies, gather supporting evidence, review available coverage, document your damages, and pursue compensation when another party is legally responsible.
Our personal injury practice includes motor vehicle accident claims involving injuries ranging from temporary soft-tissue conditions to fractures, head injuries, back and neck injuries, permanent disabilities, and other serious harm.
We understand that an injury claim is not simply a file or case number. The result can affect your health, finances, employment, family responsibilities, and long-term quality of life.
The actions you take after a collision can affect both your health and your ability to establish a personal injury claim.
Seek appropriate medical care as soon as possible, particularly if you are experiencing pain, dizziness, headaches, limited movement, numbness, confusion, or other symptoms.
Some accident-related injuries are not immediately obvious. Medical documentation can also help establish when symptoms began, what conditions were diagnosed, and how the collision affected your ability to work and perform normal activities.
Make sure the accident is properly reported when required. If law enforcement responds, obtain information that will allow you or your attorney to request the crash report.
If you can safely do so, preserve photographs or video showing:
Conditions can change quickly after a crash, making early documentation important.
Get the names and contact information of people who saw the accident or its immediate aftermath. Independent witnesses may become important if the drivers later disagree about what happened.
Collect the other driver’s name, contact information, driver’s license information, vehicle information, and insurance details.
Avoid arguments about fault at the scene. A full investigation may reveal facts that were not immediately apparent.
Keep copies of medical records, bills, prescription receipts, repair estimates, employment records, pay stubs, correspondence from insurance companies, photographs, and other accident-related documents.
An insurance representative may ask for a recorded statement or seek information about your injuries shortly after the accident. Statements made before the medical situation is fully understood can later become part of a dispute over liability or damages.
You can speak with a car accident lawyer before providing extensive statements or signing settlement documents.
New Jersey uses a no-fault automobile insurance system. Depending on the circumstances and available coverage, your own automobile insurance may provide Personal Injury Protection, commonly called PIP, for certain accident-related losses regardless of who caused the collision.
PIP is frequently associated with medical benefits and may also include income continuation benefits depending on the policy and available coverage.
However, PIP does not necessarily resolve every financial loss arising from a serious accident. When another driver or responsible party caused the crash, an additional personal injury claim may be available for damages that are legally recoverable and not otherwise fully compensated.
Because insurance policies and accident circumstances differ, the available sources of compensation should be reviewed individually.
Motor vehicle crashes can result from many forms of unsafe driving. A car accident claim may involve allegations such as:
Some cases involve more than one responsible party. Evidence must be reviewed carefully before determining how the collision occurred and who may be legally responsible.
ASK Law Firm can evaluate claims involving many types of motor vehicle collisions, including:
When a collision involves a commercial vehicle, government vehicle, defective automotive component, or another unusual circumstance, additional parties, insurance policies, or legal requirements may need to be investigated.
Even a collision that initially appears relatively minor can cause significant injuries.
Car accident injuries may include:
Serious cases may require surgery, rehabilitation, physical therapy, pain management, future medical care, or extended time away from work.
A personal injury claim should consider not only immediate medical expenses but also the reasonably supported long-term consequences of the injuries.
Missing work after a car accident can create financial pressure while medical expenses continue to accumulate.
Lost-income claims may involve:
Supporting documents may include pay stubs, W-2 or 1099 forms, employer verification, tax returns, business records, work schedules, and medical documentation establishing that your injuries prevented or restricted you from working.
For people who are self-employed or have irregular income, calculating lost earnings can require a more detailed review of financial records.
The compensation available depends on the facts of the accident, the injuries, insurance coverage, applicable law, and supporting evidence.
A car accident claim may potentially seek compensation for losses such as:
The value of a claim cannot be determined responsibly from the type of accident alone. The severity and permanence of the injuries, medical evidence, employment impact, available insurance, liability evidence, and other circumstances all matter.
Insurance carriers sometimes argue that the injured person caused or contributed to the collision.
New Jersey follows modified comparative negligence principles. Partial responsibility does not necessarily prevent a person from recovering compensation, although an allocation of fault may reduce the amount recoverable. Under certain circumstances, a sufficiently high percentage of responsibility can prevent recovery.
This makes evidence regarding how the collision occurred especially important when fault is disputed.
A quick settlement may be appealing when medical bills and household expenses are accumulating. The problem is that an early offer may be made before the full extent of your injuries is known.
Before resolving a claim, consider whether you know:
Once a claim is fully and finally settled and a release is signed, you generally cannot seek additional compensation simply because your injuries later turn out to be more serious than expected.
A car accident lawyer can handle the legal and insurance issues while you concentrate on treatment and recovery.

Not every accident requires litigation, but speaking with a lawyer can be useful when you were injured, missed work, have ongoing medical treatment, are being blamed for the crash, receive a disputed insurance decision, or are being asked to accept a settlement. An attorney can review the available insurance coverage, liability evidence, medical documentation, and potential damages before important rights are released.
It is generally beneficial to obtain legal advice early. Evidence can disappear, witnesses can become difficult to locate, video recordings may be overwritten, and insurance companies may request statements shortly after the collision. Early investigation can help preserve evidence before these problems develop.
Many New Jersey personal injury claims arising from car accidents are generally subject to a two-year statute of limitations. Exceptions and different deadlines may apply depending on the circumstances. Claims involving government entities or public employees can involve substantially shorter notice requirements, so you should not wait until the general deadline is approaching to obtain advice.
Generally, negotiating an insurance claim is not the same thing as filing a lawsuit. Ongoing settlement discussions should not be assumed to stop a legal filing deadline. An attorney can identify the applicable deadline and determine what action is necessary to preserve the claim.
New Jersey’s no-fault insurance system means Personal Injury Protection coverage may provide benefits for qualifying accident-related medical expenses regardless of who caused the crash. The amount and type of available benefits depend on the applicable policy and other circumstances. Serious cases may also involve claims against legally responsible parties.
Potentially. PIP coverage may include income continuation benefits depending on the policy. If those benefits do not fully compensate your losses and another party was responsible for the crash, additional lost income may potentially become part of a personal injury claim. Documentation from your employer, medical providers, tax records, pay statements, or business records may be needed.
Self-employed individuals can still document income losses, although these claims may require additional financial evidence. Tax returns, invoices, contracts, bank records, appointment histories, profit-and-loss statements, and other business documentation may help establish what income was lost because of the injuries.
Using paid leave does not necessarily mean that the accident had no economic impact. Time off has value, and records showing that you were required to use accrued leave because of accident-related injuries may be relevant when evaluating your losses.
Possibly. New Jersey uses modified comparative negligence rules. Being partly responsible does not automatically eliminate a claim, but your compensation may be reduced according to your percentage of responsibility. Recovery can be barred if your share of fault exceeds the level permitted under New Jersey law.
An insurer’s initial position does not necessarily decide legal responsibility. Police reports, photographs, witness statements, vehicle damage, video footage, physical evidence, and other information can be used to investigate how a crash occurred. An attorney can evaluate that evidence rather than relying solely on the insurance company’s assessment.
You should understand why the statement is being requested and how it may be used before agreeing. Insurance representatives may ask questions about fault, prior medical conditions, treatment, or the severity of your injuries while the claim is still developing. You may wish to speak with an attorney before giving an extensive recorded statement.
Some accident-related symptoms may become noticeable hours or days after a collision. Seek appropriate medical attention if symptoms develop. Tell the medical provider when the accident occurred and describe your symptoms accurately. Delayed symptoms do not necessarily mean an injury is unrelated to the crash, but medical documentation becomes important.
Preserve photographs, videos, crash reports, witness information, medical records, medical bills, prescription receipts, insurance correspondence, vehicle repair documents, employment records, pay statements, and any other records showing what happened and how the accident affected you.
Use caution. Photographs, comments, videos, location information, or discussions about your recovery can potentially be reviewed and used in connection with an injury claim. Even an innocent post may be interpreted differently when presented during an insurance dispute or lawsuit.
There is no reliable standard amount for a car accident claim. The potential value depends on liability, the nature and permanence of the injuries, medical treatment, lost income, future care, insurance coverage, comparative fault, and the strength of the supporting evidence. A lawyer must evaluate the individual facts before providing a meaningful assessment.
Not necessarily. Many injury claims are resolved through negotiations. Litigation may become necessary when responsibility is disputed, damages are significantly undervalued, an insurance company refuses to offer a reasonable resolution, or another legal issue prevents settlement. A law firm should be prepared for both negotiation and litigation rather than assuming every case will settle.
Consider whether the attorney regularly handles personal injury and motor vehicle accident matters, whether the firm explains its strategy clearly, who will handle your case, how communication will work, how fees and case expenses are addressed, and whether the firm is prepared to litigate when necessary. You should feel comfortable asking questions about both the strengths and challenges of your claim.
ASK Law Firm offers free consultations for personal injury matters. You do not pay an attorney’s fee unless the firm obtains a recovery for you.
Bring whatever documentation you currently have, such as the accident report, photographs, insurance information, medical records, bills, vehicle damage photographs, correspondence from insurance companies, witness details, employment records, and a list of medical providers. Do not delay contacting a lawyer simply because you have not collected every document yet.
Yes. Once retained, ASK Law Firm can communicate with relevant insurance representatives regarding the personal injury claim, gather supporting records, evaluate coverage, present evidence of damages, negotiate the claim, and pursue litigation when appropriate.
ASK Law Firm’s personal injury attorneys handle motor vehicle accident matters and approach cases with an emphasis on strategic preparation. The firm can investigate liability, review insurance coverage, document medical and financial losses, negotiate with insurers, and prepare the matter for litigation when necessary.

NJ Route 71 / Main Street is the principal north-south roadway through Bradley Beach and the borough’s downtown commercial corridor. NJDOT recorded an AADT of approximately 8,282 vehicles per day just south of Monmouth Avenue in 2018. Crash data for 2015–2019 identified 14 pedestrian or bicycle crashes in Bradley Beach, 12 of which occurred along Main Street. Five were concentrated on Main Street between Park Place and Lake Terrace. The Main Street corridor from Monmouth Avenue to Ocean Park Avenue contains nine intersections; the signalized intersections include Evergreen Avenue, Fourth Avenue, Brinley Avenue, LaReine Avenue, and Ocean Park Avenue.
Memorial Drive / Monmouth County Route 40A is one of the strongest documented general-crash corridors affecting the Bradley Beach area. Traffic volumes on the corridor are approximately 16,500–18,800 vehicles per day. From October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023, officials recorded 134 crashes, including 45 injury crashes and 63 injuries. Right-angle and left-turn crashes accounted for 49%, rear-end crashes for 22%, and same-direction sideswipes for 17%. The principal crash clusters occurred at Memorial Drive with Fourth Avenue and Seventh Avenue, where many of the right-angle crashes were concentrated.
Memorial Drive at Seventh Avenue is therefore one of the clearest data-supported candidates for a high-frequency accident location near Bradley Beach. A regional roadway analysis recorded 27 crashes at Memorial Drive and Seventh Avenue during 2017–2020, placing the intersection at the top of a Monmouth County severity-screening list. Its risk factors include relatively high traffic volume, turning movements, pedestrian crossings, railroad-related roadway conditions, and historically unsignalized traffic movements.
Memorial Drive at Fourth Avenue is another major conflict point. Crash reviews identified concentrations of right-angle collisions at this intersection. Safety improvements proposed for the location have included installation of a traffic signal, indicating that intersection control and crossing conflicts have been significant concerns.
Main Street / Route 71 at Park Place Avenue warrants particular attention for crash severity. A fatal two-vehicle angle collision occurred there on December 13, 2023. The intersection is also located within the Main Street area where earlier pedestrian and bicycle crash data showed a concentration of collisions between Park Place and Lake Terrace.
Main Street at McCabe Avenue is one of the more distinct pedestrian and bicycle conflict locations. Crash data identified three pedestrian or bicycle crashes at or near Main Street and McCabe Avenue during 2015–2019, more than any single intersection listed in the Main Street study area during that period. Restricted sight distance from vehicles parked near corners has also been identified as a concern.
Main Street at Brinley Avenue / County Route 2 is a signalized intersection and an important east-west connection toward the beach, school, residential neighborhoods, and commercial areas. Transportation reviews have identified several risk factors here, including delivery trucks obstructing travel lanes, vehicles parked near corners reducing sight distance, bus activity, turning movements, and pedestrian crossings. A pedestrian injury crash was recorded at Main Street and Brinley Avenue in 2018.
Main Street at Third Avenue has documented bicycle-crash history and additional turning conflicts. A bicyclist was injured there in 2018. Angled parking immediately east of Main Street can also create conflicts when vehicles back from parking spaces into traffic while other vehicles turn onto Third Avenue.
Main Street at Evergreen Avenue is another signalized intersection with documented vulnerable-road-user activity. A bicycle injury crash occurred there in 2015. The intersection also has multiple driveway, parking-lot, turning, and pedestrian movements that can increase conflict points.
Main Street at Monmouth Avenue is an unsignalized pedestrian-sensitive intersection. A pedestrian injury crash occurred there in 2017. The intersection serves nearby recreational activity and is used by children and pedestrians crossing Main Street.
Main Street at Fifth Avenue also deserves attention because it provides access toward Bradley Beach Elementary School. Pedestrian visibility and crossing conditions have previously been identified as concerns in this area.
Ocean Avenue / County Route 18 is the principal beachfront roadway. It runs north-south along the shore and contains extensive angled parking, producing frequent parking-entry, backing, pedestrian, bicycle, and turning conflicts during periods of heavy beach activity. Ocean Avenue at Kent Avenue has appeared in pedestrian-crash screening data and should be treated as a potential conflict location, particularly during periods of increased seasonal traffic.
Brinley Avenue / County Route 2 is one of Bradley Beach’s main east-west routes and carries traffic between Route 71/Main Street and the beachfront area. Accident exposure is highest where Brinley intersects larger north-south corridors, particularly Main Street and Ocean Avenue.
LaReine Avenue, Bradley Boulevard, Lake Terrace, and Ocean Park Avenue also function as important local routes and connectors. The greatest collision exposure is generally expected where these streets meet Main Street, Ocean Avenue, Memorial Drive, or other higher-volume roads rather than on lower-volume residential blocks.
Based on available crash history, traffic volumes, intersection design, pedestrian activity, turning movements, and roadway conditions, the locations with the strongest accident potential include:
The strongest overall crash concentration is associated with Memorial Drive at Fourth Avenue and Seventh Avenue, while Route 71 / Main Street shows the strongest pattern for pedestrian and bicycle crashes within Bradley Beach itself.
No major traffic circle is located within Bradley Beach’s core roadway network. The primary collision points are conventional signalized intersections, unsignalized intersections, pedestrian crossings, parking-related conflict areas, and high-volume north-south corridors.
ZIP Codes: 07720. Bradley Beach has one primary five-digit ZIP Code: 07720.
